Hi everybody.

I'll be paying attention to much of the critique work here, at least until paula abdul and simon get out of their contracts.

Its simple. a couple rules.

First, we're here to give you constructive criticism.

Second, we're here to have fun.

Third, second is really first.

Fourth, we're not here to swoggle your privates and tell you how wonderful you are. THis is not the collaborations and affirmations forum. You will be receiving real information that can help you improve your work. Grow a callous. You'll need it.

Fifth, we're not here to have fun at your expense. A sincere effort will be met with a sincere response. the inverse also holds true.

Sixth, ibid #2.

Seventh, this is an integrated classroom. The newbies and the fifth-years are all here together. Don't let your amateur status hold you back...you're the one who can benefit most.

finally....WELCOME!

So what's SOP for handling the likes of rexmism and MattGlickenstein's evil twin?

Can we have a little fun with them?

Use wet noodles instead of crowbars?

inquiring minds want to know

very happy

yeah dwoz rules. Thanks for changing my name btw. A band will be unsuccessful until they get a cool name just like a pre-newbessent web forum poster will have no reputation until he gets a cool nickname.

Fortunate son, you're going to have to develop better command of your grammar...particularly the whole "plurals" thing.

bare HAND.

Not necessarily because I CAN, or that I'm showing off...but simply because I can't find a convenient flat place to put this damn cup of coffee down.

As someone who's mother tongue is french...ouch.

I do get the "cirque du soleil" pun.
But just as you need a preposition article for "du soleil" you need a feminine preposition article for "de la lune".
Technically, "et tout entre" is a literal translation. The first obvious understanding would be "everything comes in" or "everything fits inside". What you're trying to say is "and everything in between", right ?
That's not a french saying...so you could translate it into ..."and everything else"

"Critique du soleil, de la lune et de tout le reste" would work.

If you want it to be a real french pun, you could say

"Critique du soleil (un rendez-vous avec la lune)"

"Le soleil a rendez-vous avec la lune" is a 1939 french romantic song about an eclipse which was sung by Charles Trenet, better know as "the singing fool". It's a "play on words" song with many tongue twisters. But for the inventors of the french kiss, tongue twisting is quite common. :D

of course the sound of it is poetic but, given the way we usually get beaten in here does not evoke a honey moon for moi

un rendez-vous avec les étoiles as in what you see when you are down for the count would fit better

well... it IS TRUE that most of the audience for this forum is from Kansas or Kentucky. But to appease all those 'ferigners, I think we'll do a rotation of names...when we get bored with french (how one can EVER be bored of french, is beyond me, but that's beside the point), we'll do one in spanich, then arabic, then hindi, then cantonese, then russian, then mandarin, then portuguese, then danish, then german, then gamelan, then svedish.
