The Sun (http://dikledoux.com/mp3_files/TheSunMix_1_15-2007.mp3)
I originally posted the working version of this song over here for preliminary critique, then sent it up to the collaboration forum to invite anyone willing to throw stuff at it. So here's the version as it is... finished? You decide. At this point my ears and brain are worn out.
ScratchyPotts contributed bass and an additional bg vocal that I didn't already have (he's doing the lowest one)
Mudcat did all the color string work. Mandolin, zitheresque, slide acoustic and electric.
thanks, thanks, THANKS to both of you guys for your help. Both of you really caught the vibe of the song as I heard it and delivered huge.
I did (already had) drums, basic guitar and bg vox. I also re-sang the thing and this is 'bout as good as it's gonna get for me. As my friend used to say "I open my mouth and what comes out is what you're gonna get..."
So have a listen, hope you like it.

Great job on a great song :Coolio:

One thing I would have done differently, and this is just a matter of personal taste, would have been to play E instead of G for the first bass note of the chorus. That would make it E minor to C maj instead of G maj to C maj.
Like I said, just a personal preference, but feel free to flame away ;-D

Awonderful song...a three-piece, and it stayed in the kitchen, with all the sweet smellin' Mother's cookin'!!
The use of all the organic strings from Mudcat, as usual, blow my skirt up!!
Great one!
