That's right boys and boys, this is our new home.

Difference being, it is OUR home. We are the dreamers.

Anyhoo. We've got some really exciting shit coming your way but I'm not allowed to reveal it just yet. (Thanks Mixie)

But it will be bigger, better, wider (ooh) and deeper (owww) than the MARSH ever was.

I, for one, can't wait.

Thanks for coming along.

Enjoy.

Of course, as always, we are looking forward to Kenny revealing it early.

I used a smiley.

What's the world coming to?

Looking forward to some great information on how to make my "in the box" mixes better. They still suck, but I'm trying!

I hope that Kenny revealing it has nothing to do with hand cuffs, being in the box and being really excited...

What does ITB really mean?

If it was YER box, you'd definitely know. Surprised

I Don't have a "box" per se.... cube is a better descript...

All these years I "bragged" about not being in the box...

Turns out it was probably the gheyist thing I've ever said...

Went to ***** and you weren't around.

No way I'm gonna miss out on this. You've given me way too much great info. Don't really know what happened over there. Beer, anyone? Thumbsup

I've been "underpants" before - never "first kiss wanker". Guess it will wear off.

I can probably help your box Mixie :D

Um, I mean...

Seriously, I've been learning lots of things from Kenny.

Wait, stop, dude!

Seriously seriously- the mad scientist is at work, these things can be helped. Last month I made some of Kenny's mixes sound like a 1940s tube console that had never been recapped :)

seriously SERIOUSLY seriously: this is an interesting topic.

And you accomplished this how? By simply playing the original release?

Nice to see you Chris. Hope to make it over to your place come the spring logging festivities in New Hampsha.Wink

Oh hell yeah. Anytime. So dwoz hasn't raised his logs yet?

:icon_eek:

you know what I mean...

I'm still up for helping dwoz raise his logs but if your avatar is a good likeness of you, I bet you'd be even better at it ;)

As for the ITB issues, it's all about the nonlinearities but it's crazy how little of them you need to make things happen. The tube-console thing had to do with a technique for acceleration limiting the signal digitally (slew limiting, de-essing, whatEVer you want to call it) with a super, super soft 'knee'. I don't think anyone else has ever done this. I now know why :D the results did a terrific early-seventies imitation in a subtle but pervasive way, which was extremely not desired.

The funny thing is, that exact same algorithm ended up giving me some fantastic convolution reverb impulses- but you have to also be able to have mix elements stick out in the foreground, or it doesn't work.

Hey, maybe we can come up with a Womb Sample Closet where I could contribute the verb IRs, Kenny could re-contribute drum samples he's made public before, etc?

I, for one, have no idea.

But best of luck with it.

My first impression was that its a telephone.

Charles "phones in" his mix?

I believe that "shower mix" is completely overrated. Anyone can mix shower water.

Bidet...now that's different. Way different. There's CONSEQUENCES when you mess up a bidet mix.

Ya mean like "Patch and Sample City", but with people actually contributing? Wow.

Great to see you co mod this new forum Kenny. I always got some great tips from your many posts and threads throughout the years.

The "Enuff Q..." thread on the DUC is definitely a classic. (cant believe that one's over 5 years old already.)

Looking forward to the new.

Hey Mixerman,

I'm willing to mix ITB as long as I can bring my girlfriend,
my wife AND a documentary film crew.

Is that allowed?
