So, let's hear it...

What changes in your bodily compositions happen when you open the Environment Window? Or, have you never opened it because the thought of it makes your asshole suck the oxygen out of the room?

To me, the Environment is one of the wildest parts of Logic...

to me, the environment has always struck me like the back of a rack. you know, once a year you dive in there with a lighter and a pocket full of dreams, remove a dead rat, finally patch in that obscure bit of gear you know you'll never use but at least now if you wanted to it could be found on the patchbay, realise that if you wiggle that one connecter just right suddenly you gained a channel you thought was long gone, then proceed to drink away the horror and swear that next time you wire up a studio you will label the cabling clearly.

ive had logic for about 11 months now, and so far (aside from the occasional situation that required delving in there) ive put off that once a year event

I some what prefer the enviroment mixer to the reglar mixer window, because I can arange stuff the way I want.

Also it is a sick-crazy-freak-o-matic place to get some wild stuff going.

I so totally agree!!!

So much you can do with it, and all I ever see is "it's not like <insert sequencer name here>". The n00bs are missing the very best part of Logic, and then they complain that the arpeggiator sucks... hell, perhaps sting a few things with it and you'll have something that gives you a good kick in the nutz!

Nope. I don't go anywhere near it.

If I accidentally find myself there, I can get it to hit a high C.

I have been meaning to get to grips with the environment window for quite some time now... But, where to start?!! :icon_eek:

Y'know, if I could figure out how to get Snapz Pro to record my freakin' audio when I am recording a movie, I'd have some tutes on this stuff online.

Honestly, there's nothing to the Environment. When you get down to basics, there's just three things to consider:

1) Taking an environment object
2) Cabling it to either a MIDI or Software Instrument
3) Assigning your track to environment object

Everything gets weird and wonderful from there! But at the heart of it all are those three things.

You can download for free Len Sasso's now dated but still useful Environment Toolkit if you would like some insight.
