I just got an 01V96 ver 2, and this sounded liked something that should be doable.

I checked the 02R manual.

Page 114, Chapter 11 COmmon Channel Functions.

Grouping Ouput Channel EQs

You have four link groups, e, f, g, and h. You can sleect which auxs, busses, the ST out are part of which groups.

DISPLAY ACCESS [GROUP] button,

Go to Output EQ tab

here is the o2r96 v2 manual

http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/pa/english/mixers/02R96V2E1.pdf

page 111 has info on putting eq on aux masters. you should be able to do this just fine.

Ahh cheers :) I couldnt seem to find the right one or section being a short tempered little kid that Iam. Much appreciated. Should be interesting as I have to know this inside out by saturday!!

Any disdvantages to the o2r that people have found in a live perspective ?

i suppose the two things that come to mind about an o2r live are that it's a little "colder" sounding than i prefer. especially now that it's conversion and so forth is a little long in the tooth. and it's not quite as quickly laid out for live stuff as thier newer boards. doesn't mean you can't do it, but you have to be extra double careful of what page you are on and how you are getting around on it. for instance, the dm2000 has more dedicated buttons than the o2r with respect to jumping right to a section, so i could see something like a dm2000 getting used live more easily than an o2r, but it ain't impossible. but it takes a little more doing to eq quickly on the o2r than it does on newer yamaha boards where they have refined some of that stuff.

Yeah I have been messing about with it at home and I seem to have my head around it but have had a couple of moments where ive been like crap im on the wrong page but we have two evenings of bands coming in for us to test the rig and for me to get the silly mistakes out.

The sound shouldnt matter too much as these people are mostly drunk but it will to me so in time it will get sold on in place for maybe one of the newer yamaha boards :)

I must admit its quite amazing how digital is taking over , I even managed to convince a true analogue fan that there is a place for digital in live sound.
