In your dvd and articles you always mention mixing through an AC plug. since I don't use PT but DP, what about using a DAD valve with the "Mix" setting instead? Would that possibly bring the same kind of analog channel sound?
TIA

Using Valve across the mix buss actually works very well. It's a different kind of sound--a little rounder + warmer than McDSP's Analog Channel AC1 (which emulates solid state saturation), but it works great.
Actually, Phil Tan (big time r+b hip hop mixer) mixes thru Valve with it on the Linear setting. It's a very subtle sound (as is AC1), but it sounds great! So, I'd suggest giving that a try as well.
Hope this helps.

cosign on that, I have used DAD valve on the master before and it worked well on my rustic folk recordings. Worth a shot for sure.

So until DUY issues a native version of Tape or I switch to Protools that's what I'll keep doing...
Thanks Charles & Recall!

Since I noticed we have the honor & pleasure to count Xavier among us I wanted to ask him the hitherto Unanswered Question, 'Why oh why??"... guess that wont be necessary then!!
Let's pray it'll be AU too, not just Rtas ...
