I played a Deusenberg today. It was really nice. Kind of a cross between a really nice guitar, oral sex, and ice cream.

Now my Gibbies feel like Eppies.

Just thought I would share....

I fuckin love the way the Rocket looks like. Never played one though.... (I've quickly tested one of the hollow bodies in a store, but that's it.)

I saw Mr. Düsenberg at the Musicfair in Frankfurt last year. He was holding one of his $5000.- hollowbody electric guitars, eating a sausage bread and chatting with some people. While he was chatting, half of the sausage bread fell through the hole into the guitar

That's why they sound so good!

you obviously have NEW Gibsons

I like the Dusenberg, but it's not beating my 50's or 60's Gibsons

sorry

Yeah, my oldest is an '85 - hardly golden era stuff.

Still this girl was just begging me to take her home!

With the right pair of shoes I think I could make this work...

Every time I see that image, I keep hearing "Like a Rhinestone Cowboy" in my head.

One of the local guitar shops carries a few Duesenbergs...

One looks like a *cough*Ripoff*cough of a Rickenbacker 12.

One looks like a Gretsch Electromatic.

Both are stupid expensive.

Cheers,
Tim

The Doozys are sweet axes. Even if I wasn't keen on the looks (and I am) I would still have to admit that they play and sound fantastic. I also played some custom shop Gibsons at the same price point and they were a distinct let down after playing the Starplayer. And this is coming from a lifelong Gibson guy.

Also their take on the V, as pointed out by MKZ, is pretty hawt.

They need a good setup, and permanent TLC, just like Rickies.
I've seen some recent models with horrid intonation issues and tuners that aren't up to scratch.
But they sound OK and I think they look very cool.

I use to ride in a Stutz Bearcat, Jim. Those were different times!
