AW ambient sample technique

So recently I read his interview once again (4187th time probably)))) and a question appeared in my head...

So, when yousing a sample to drive reverb is that sample like "snare in the room" or "snare in the overheads" or close miced sample?

I reckon the idea is to use a sample that is taken from ambience mikes. Can work sometimes.

And then use some more reverb on it if needed?

On a sidenote - on Soulfly first album seems like there's a bit of reverb on everything - drums, gtrz, even bass:Roll eyes: . Amazing how he managed to achieve such clarity with it.
