Just goes to show you that ideas are out there in the air...we don't actually create anything, we simply find ourselves standing in the way when an idea comes blowing through.

I think metal needs to stop being so ghey and go back to just being gay.

And look at the first and last bands and tell me those kids are much over 16.

Deathcore in general is detestable... Fortunately Death Metal has always proven to be way more technical and less... erm... ghey!
This is from the land of the mouse...

This is what deathcore appropriated and turned into pure NTTAWWT gay...

Hmm, some interesting guitar work there. The main death I hear, though, is death by kick drum. Man, I'm glad I don't try to mix stuff like this.

I, for one, am always encouraged seeing kids play this kinda stuff. Especially if they're really young.
They gotta stay home and practice while the other kids go to parties. Shows some measure of discipline. Particularly for the drummers. Takes a good bit of work to get your feet moving like that.
Later, they may find themselves playing more musical music.
Just a thought.

Lemme tell ya, I don't know what the hell they're putting in the water in France, but the majority of the new bands I've encountered from there have been unbelievably stupidly creative, small details like that crash ping at 2:05 or the absurdly insane grooves of Benighted...
44nmr3YhDu4
(I understand this might be too heavy for most people but it's worth listening until the end and detailing the whole composition, this is a very old band from the 90's but the drummer is a 19 year old kid that absolutely despises triggers)
To the absolute beauty of Alcest/Amesoeurs

And I agree with Slippy, it takes a lot of discipline to get to that level and more often than not you then start diverging into a more melodic path.
Or if you're from Italy they lace some Jazz in your water, check out Vanessa Van Basten, Ephel Duath or Zu

Whew, that is cool stuff.
Do you have more tips to check out?
I know of Panzerbalett, who got into that ballpark from the opposite direction, I guess, and who I frankly regard to be a dentists evening circus.
Their 'wicked, wicked guys' ado is more ghey than these deathcore kids could ever be imho.
But Vanessa Van Basten, Ephel Duath or especially Zu are pretty cool,

Actually most of those bands got into that ballpark from that general opposite direction, they were either death metal or black metal bands that started experimenting a bit more and ended up landing in either the shoegaze, free jazz or trip-hop camps...
If you liked those three, some other bands to check:
Amesoeurs (Seriously, excellent floaty stuff, slightly rough in terms of guitar texture but amazing music nonetheless)
Manes (Broken up but their last two records are worth investigating, the early stuff is tr00 gr1m kvlt Black Metal)
Ulver
Black Engine
Oxbow
Secret Chiefs 3
Yakuza
Maserati
Lento
Year Of No Light
Damn, too many... the stuff I do these days mainly is in the VBV camp, trip-hop infused slow doomy metal/electronica.
