I've had the pleasure of working with Tony several times over the years.

Mind blowing chops but best of all, he can play a tasteful, minamalist country tune, blues shuffle, samba or whatever too.

He could make a tuna can sound like a symphony.

That's awesome. Marotta said once in an interview that Porcaro told him that he had made a loop of that song and just driven around L.A. listening to it. I feel the same way!

Insomnia fueled YouTube surfing can yield interesting results.

I was in a band in 1993 that opened for the Gourds at a student co-op Halloween party on what I beleive was thier third gig and have been a fan ever since.

Someone laid the audio of thier version of "Gin and Juice" over the original Snoop Dog video and uploaded it to the internot.

God bless 'em.

Bob Margouleff and Malcolm Cecil (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuaSzFf7yq0), the forces behind T.O.N.T.O.'s Expanding Headband, talk about their seminal work with Stevie Wonder in the early 70s.

I think Steely Dan was famous for avoiding touring, so good luck finding live vids. Still, the split sceen with Fagen on the right was most peculiar.

the split sceen with Fagen on the right was most peculiar.

Yeah, and the fact that they kept hitting that particular visual note every time the two of them sang together in the chorus was kind of not very creative on the part of the director.

I was thinking more of the fact that it was David Palmer and not Donald Fagen singing the lead. Unless I am very much mistaken it was Fagen singing on Can't Buy A Thrill, and of course ever since Palmer left the band.

That should give everyone a hint as to what was "wrong" with the other one I posted directly thereafter.

That was very cool. The backend of the stick on the hat was really cool... and of course the stick tossing at the end was sweet.

Don't we all just want to be drummers?
