Céad Míle Fáilte!

Prefer Guinness myself, or Smithwicks if there's no Guinness.. mother's milk.

Murphy's makes me fart.

Yes, I stole that joke from Dave Allen.

Happy to raise a toast in honor of blessed Sucat (his real name).

If you haven't read his Confession you should (http://www.maryjones.us/ctexts/p01.html). His "Lorica" is one of the most beautiful hymns ever written, and is so full of the essence of Celtic spirituality.

Born in Wales, kidnapped as a teenager into slavery in Ireland. He escaped, then after being educated and ordained returned to minister to his former captors. His owner set his house on fire and killed himself because he couldn't bear that Patrick was on the way to visit and forgive him. Personally ordained over 200 bishops and went and preached to the clan leaders and kings. An amazing life.

Any relation to Mudcat?

What a total drama queen, honestly!

Why do they only put 239 beans in a
can in Ireland?

OK, now say this with your best (or worst) Irish accent:
"because if they put one more in it would be.....240

(too farty.... for the accent challenged....)

Aye, jaysus, ye fek one goat........

St. Patrick was also instrumental in establishing the divinity/divine rights of kings.

I have a St. Patty's party to go to tomorrow. I don't usually think of cheese when I think "Irish". But the proprietor of a nearby cheese store who normally just sells American artisanal cheeses made an exception to her rule and imported some exquisite Irish porter cheese (she is of Irish descent). So I'll be bringing that to the party.

That, and a 12 pack of Smithwick's.
