After JJP, CLA and all the other designer bundles, Waves finally thought it was time for Mixerman to make at least a small contribution to the ITB revolution.

I've been doing this one knob thing for years.

It's called spanking the monkey.

This is the sort of thing I would think Chris would do if he ever made a GUI.

For one self-professed "record label tycoon" that I had the unfortunate displeasure of working with a few years ago, this plug- in would also need a "Broadcast Quality" knob.

Introducing placebo plugins!

...for when you just can't lose that A/R guy.

You also need a "Talent Knob" for all those leftover Amy Grant wanna'bees from the late '80s who keep calling me for production services. :headpalm:

Don't for get the "Demo/Hit Knob" plug-in. I would imagine the conrol
knob would be calibrated something like this: S - - - - - - H-I-T

The first time I viewed this thread, I thought it was all Otek's work......

....I can't actually believe they're doing this.

I also thought otek came up with the whole thing, then I read Fulcrum's post and went over to the waves website...

Yep! They're there -$80 a pop or $400 for the lot of 'em.

This shit is surreal.

That's the missing one at the bottom right. AKA the "Sore" knob .

Moisturizer for "Pro" Tracks. :headpalm:

Waves should have gone with "Audio Laxative" instead.

Hmmm... there's one Knob missing :

The Lord of the Knobs,

A knob to control them all !

Then we could finally do one knob mixes...:very happy:

The Suck Knob is the purchaser of this "fine" software.

It's usually set to maximum.

I got the email for this advertisement yesterday as well. Crazy. I would like to hear the description from Waves of how these are truly useful, as I am sure most people are thinking that they would be just the opposite.

Now if I could only get back my Roland VS-880 I had many years ago and use the mic modelers on that, I could get instantly "pro" tracks with almost no money down or any skill/effort on my part. Finally!

Ok, so how many of you

a) thought I had made the whole thing up?

b) missed the plugin @ bottom right?

c) thought the actual concept was funnier than the joke?

I'm not being rhetorical, here - I want to know...

Who is the target demographic for these products?

I ask only because I'm guessing it's the people who never pay for plugs. The cracked plug hoarders. I'm also guessing they will sing this set's praises from the mountain tops.

c) Guilty... but then saw that I missed b) and had a look. Now I think the joke is funnier. Waves is Friday.

These plug-in knobs would assist greatly in the next Soundblaster versus Decent Converters "testing", but only if the purity of the signal chain is maintained through the classic Rane-Mackie-Butthorn Speakers set-up.

Wait! I've got it! To complete this, they need to add a "room treatment" knob!

I answer "a" simply because I didn't miss the one referenced in "b".... along with "c".

Wait. You mean the rest ARE for real?

Really. I thought you had been sitting somewhere with a half hour to kill waiting for something, with a graphics program loaded up and running in front of you, and the mischief glands were pumping.
