Heard it moments ago that he succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

My condolences to his loved ones.

Roger was a guest speaker at the recording school my friend teaches at here in Ohio. I was lucky enough to sit in on a few of his lectures and also have dinner with him. Not only a brilliant engineer, he was also a fantastic human being.....RIP Roger...

Very sad news indeed. What a legacy though and an amazing career.

So sad that the cancer got the best of him.

RIP.

From Wikipedia:

As of early 2011 he was reported to be "fighting for his life," and after nearly a year of medical treatments he and his family were stated to be "all but bankrupt."

Bankrupt from medical tratements, how is that still possible today... what a tragedy, and such a shame, after everything he achieved.

Roger was the first "name ae" I knew and searched out recordings of.
Loved his column in EQ, and later he has served as an inspiration through his endevours.

His last struggle has also made me very aware of how fortunate I am living where I am. And enjoying the benefits of the philosofies my part of the world is based on.

His music, wittiness in writing and inventiveness is what I'll think of first when I'll see or hear the name Roger Nichols.

RIP
