Let There Be Rock.

Warner Home Video has confirmed a July 25th UK release date for the Blu-ray, DVD release of AC/DC's legendary concert film, Let There Be Rock.

The North American release date is set for June 7th and will also be available in a 30th Anniversary Collector's Tin.

The release documents AC/DC's 1979 Paris concert during the Australian heavy metal band's Highway To Hell tour. Interview segments and humorous backstage footage show another side to the musicians, especially AC/DC's flamboyant lead singer Bon Scott, who died two months after this filmed concert.

The tracklisting is as follows: 'Live Wire' 'Shot Down in Flames' 'Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be' 'Sin City' 'Walk All over You' 'Bad Boy Boogie' 'The Jack' 'Highway to Hell' 'Girls Got Rhythm' 'High Voltage' 'Whole Lotta Rosie' 'Rocker' 'Let There Be Rock'.

(Although I haven't seen said footage) you can't go wrong whether it's VHS, DVD, or BluRay

In the beginning
Back in nineteen fifty five
Man didn't know 'bout a rock 'n' roll show
'N all that jive
The white man had the schmaltz
The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tschaikovsky had the news, he said

Let there be light, and there was light
Let there be sound, and there was sound
Let there be drums, there was drums
Let there be guitar, there was guitar, ah
Let there be rock

And it came to pass
That rock 'n' roll was born
All across the land every rockin' band
Was blowin' up a storm
And the guitar man got famous
The business man got rich
And in every bar there was a superstar
With a seven year itch
There was fifteen million fingers
Learnin' how to play
And you could hear the fingers pickin'
And this is what they had to say

Let there be light, sound, drums, 'n guitar, ah
Let there be rock

One night in a club called the Shakin' Hand
There was a 42 decibel rockin' band
And the music was good
And the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd

Let there be rock

My sister was kind enough to take me to see this when it came out. What a great sport, seeing as her tastes in rock ran a little lighter.

The theater temporarily set up a full PA (like, club/theater-sized stacks - no idea of wattage) just to recreate the blast. IIRC that was the way the band intended for it to be heard. God love 'em. And yes it is a fantastic document of a great great band.

YEAH, it's been around forever, but not in this new format, which should be super fun to watch.

just an excuse to get a good blu ray player.

Let There Be Rock in blue ray? I am soiling myself with glee. I have kept my VHS copy around for a number of years, "just in case". And I am off to the Amazon....

And order placed.

I just wish people would stop referring to AC/DC as a "heavy metal band".

that moniker stuck, date's all the way back to about 1979

back then, they WERE heavy metal, compared to what all else was out there.
