Drum sounds....comments??

Short version....

My buddy was taking a drum lesson and we set up some mics to record it. Here is a sample. I wont bother with the tech details for now. Just want to know the good and/or bad views on what I captured, and any suggestions.

Bonus points if someone can name the song and/or the instructor (who is playing on this sample). The instructor played on the orig artist recording.

Well, sounds pretty much like a "kit in a room" to me..... it's always hard to say when you're not hearing it in the context of a song.

So who's the drummer?

I'm gonna kepp a lid on that for a bit, see if someone can figure it out. Think Canadian atrist, 1982 album. This was the drummers first album with said artist.

You are correct in ruling out Pert, although you are on to something there with "Rush"......
