WTF?
Besides the question of what exactly are the terms of this prize "demo recording contract"<?>, I see nothing about another basic matter. If you win and the big prize includes your track being included in this fucking stupid video game, are you going get paid anything for that?
Or is the great prize the chance to sign over all rights to a song and the recording of the song that you produced at your expense, with an extra "bonus" that you can bind yourselves to Virgin Records for them to tie you up and throw you on a shelf and do whatever they want with you (including maybe "absolutely nothing")?
I think I'll pass.

[edit PS]-
OK, I went back and found the entry rules and read. If you "win" <cough>, not only does your recorded tune (both composition and sound recording copyright) become the sole property of these guys to do with as they like with absolutely no royalties, but the finished product of the "grand prize demo" deal also becomes their sole property.
Extra kicker.... the "demo deal prize" provides a maximum $10K budget for the recording expenses, but that's only for the recording expenses......travel and other expenses are YOUR PROBLEM.
Such a deal!

Never forget that when it comes to the internet, we music people have targets on our backs 'cause you can't pull off an IPO based on porn or gambling. The potential power of music and of musicians has never been greater. That's why all of these web clowns want to shake us down for our intellectuaal property rights.
