Good to have clarity though - now we know which side of the barrier is more important. For a moment, I thought it was the fans.

As if I needed another reason not to bother listening to the current incarnation of GNR....

This is sad. No matter how much bullshit Axl might spew about it in the article, the message that the kids are going to get is that "it ain't rock n' roll unless you're half in the bag on stage".

What a prick.

Cheers,

Dave

It's the repsonse I would expect from an Alcoholic...

Typically Alcoholics do everything around the booze....

My father-in-law does vacations based upon which bars are open and when. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. My mother-in-law goes to Starbucks and he heads for the nearest bar... if there is any possibility a bar may not be open in the morning he makes sure the motel room is stocked... If he can't be drunk while doing it he just won't do it.... Needless to say his wife takes alot of vacations without him...

I definitely see a difference between people who drink and people who are addicts...

One can say no depending on the situation and the other can't say no even while on thier heart attack meds..

Although...

I do find it wierd that you can go into a bar and get drunk and go to your car without harrassment.... (entrapment)

But you can't get drunk on stage and go to your tour bus...

Can't Axel just pretend he's a rockstar...

So does this constitute an admission from Axel that he can't go two hours without a drink without the DTs setting in?

Can't Axel just pretend he's a rockstar...

I'm pretty sure that Axl's been doing exactly that since the rest of GNR split and formed Velvet Revolver.

Cheers,

Dave

No cause he's not lip syncing!

If he would shut-up, then he'd be pretending...

This will be the last time I recommend to another man...

Just Mouth it!

Dude...It's Axel...any excuse to cancel a show........

I wouldn't go see a Guns n Roses concert if it were free and across the street !!!!

Of course not! Axl Rose is a fine, upstanding, law abiding citizen, and would never stoop to knowingly breaking the law.

Right?

The lack of ticket sales for the show, I'm sure, have nothing to do with it.

:Roll eyes:

Irrelevancy, thy name is Axl.

Dave

how does ....

"In a press release, a band spokesman said the no-booze ban imposed on them by fire marshals for the Maine Public Safety Department made it "impossible for the band to perform their show to the usual high standards that their fans deserve.

gel with

He continued: "I agree with, and ultimately take responsibility for, the end decision not to jeopardize the safety of the fans, the crews, the bands and myself as a result of the methods of these particularly draconian authorities."

Umm a booze ban equals danger??

to whom... Jaegermeisters end of year financial report??

What a lame-ass prick.

He blows the gig because they can only sell half the house and then has the balls to state publicly that his not being allowed to drink for a couple of hours somehow constitute a "danger"?

Will somebody please get him the memo that it's not 1991 anymore and he has become a fucking joke?

I'm tellin' ya:

Axl dryin' out on stage could get real ugly, real fast!

People could easily get hurt. Maybe killed.

Fear it.

This is hilarious. What "high standards" and how does booze help them achieve these "high standards"? Lame, lame, lame. Dude is a joke.

If this was someone else it'd be rock and roll, in this case it's just, uh, for once i can't find the words to describe the depths of its stupidity.

WHERE THE FUCK IS AARDVARK?

He might have some insight in that regard.

On second thought, nevermind.

It would be foolish of me to invoke my "rep power" nemisis.

DAMN YOU AARDVARK!

Just kidding buddy.

We need to have a talk about your method acting, the PAs are tired of cleaning up your fecal matter between takes and Joanna Cassidy is insisting that you stop peeking at Robert Downey JR when he goes into the back room "to rest."

Baby Laxative and stardom don't mix.

He shouldn't use such big words. He could hurt himself.

Probably doesn't even know what "draconian" means. Probably heard it on TV or read it in Rolling Stone and thought "What a cool sounding word! I think I'll start using it to sound smart."
