I'm not sure if any of you know this, but oddly enough, The Womb is putting out a Charles Dye tribute album. Dare I say we have our first track?

Please post any and all submissions here. We want to hear them!

BTW: Beyondish, how many plugs per channel did you use on this mix?

Enjoy,

(Btw, search the 'pit archives for an explanation of "ghey" used as an audio term... And check Gearwhores for the diagram while you're at it.)

Seriously, b, that mix does sound good. Nice vocals + a cool BG vox sound.

On a totally unrelated note:

I once had a client, a rather large and frightening looking chap in a well known heavy music band, tell me...

"Ya know Slippy... there are only 2 things in the world I like better than playing bass..."

Me(Dumb as a stump and not paying much attention):

"Oh yeah... Whatzzat?"

Client(Looking straight at me and apperantly serious as a heart attack):

"Cracking skulls and sucking cock"

I am RARELY at a COMPLETE loss for words.

Anyhoo. I'm not certain what brought that story to mind.

Gotta flee.

Hmm....I don't know. The lead vocal still sounds to sterile and brittle to me. Not enough warmth and punch. Maybe double the vocal and quadrupal the plug-in count. That should get you closer.

One more thing, don't for get to boost the high mids and highs at least 8-10db.............................................. .................per plug-in.

beyondish,

i get that same effect you got on your channel strip by using the radio shack plugin I learned about from PSN. you should check it out. Much simpler way of getting the same result. I use that thing on EVERYTHING now, specially vocals and guitar, it would be perfect in this situation. Just my 2cents.

My way to say 'Thank you Charles' is done by NOT singing a song.
Believe me, it'd be tragic. I once sang a song and the composer died
the same night. No kidding, my wife can confirm this!

So, without a song, thank you Charles for...

[Checking HDL]: never read this
[Checking MiLaR]: never watched this
[Checking PSN]: never listened to those
[Checking Charles' postings]: uh, dude is on my ignore list
[Checking Charles' avatar]: YES, that's it

What this song needs is:

1)More cowbell
2)The sound of some shower water (Some times hotter, some times colder)
3)Bombastic latin arrangements

Only then it'll be worthy of a tribute!

That is NO excuse. Put your cowboy boots on ... grab a lasso and go after her. You never .... ever compromise on cowbells.

Ever ...
