Looks like I'm gonna be hitting Austin on Friday (and will need recovery time, as it'll be at about 3am after an 8 hour Greyhound ride on top of 20 hours of driving a bus-sized RV full of my boss's family from Maryland to Tyler, TX). :icon_eek:
I'll be there through Thanksgiving day.
Anyway, I'll have a motel room and a rental car, so I'm not looking to crash on anyone's sofa. I will be visiting old friends and new friends, and am always up for new adventures.
I'm bringing my laptop, so you can email me at tarmadilo@yahoo.com, or call me on my cell phone (PM me for the number!).
Cheers, Tim

Hiya Tim,
Myself, gabby garcia and blackieC would like to take you out for a cold pitcher on that weekend of you're up for it!
Upon discussing, Blackie's initial response was:
"Who's playing the Roadhouse on Saturday? He (Tarmadillo) would think that the music scene in Baltimore is the best in the world after seeing one of the regular fiascos there."
He's right.
Yes indeed you would, but it's never too loud, they have super cold beer, glassware (as opposed to plastic) for everything and a great grill... We go there to have a cold one and witness the prolonged car accident they call "live music"...
After you witness that, Richard mixing at Saxon on Sunday will literally be heaven on earth. The Saxon is probably the best sounding room in town... Anyway, PM me, and we'll get particulars together!

Ahhh.. the Saxon.
Memories of playing there make me miss gigging in this town.
An intelligeble monitor mix and the knowledge that the FOH mix was the best you were ever likely to get. Richard is indeed a Squire (not the guitar) and a gentleman.
Regardless of the look he gave me my first time out when I wheeled in a JCM 800 halfstack to play a very small room.

Just checking in from Aberdeen, Mississippi (40 miles south of Tupelo). Saturday night sounds good to me! I'll contact y'all on Friday.

I survived the trip, 22 hours in a bus-sized Class A motorhome with my narcoleptic boss (who, of course, insisted on driving, fortunately we limited him to about 4 hours total) and his wife, 4 children, mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law. Then 8 hours of Greyhound riding, a $35 taxi ride in Austin rush hour traffic to the airport to get my rental car, and then the fun of trying to FIND my well-hidden hotel up on the north end of town.
I stayed in last night and rested, and now am about to go out and get some lunch and do some sightseeing...
Give me a call (I PMed my cell phone number to crunch) and we can figure out times and places!
Cheers, Tim
