Immanuel

I honestly can not tell. Is that Jonestown-stuff too? I did read a good deal of the wiki-link about it and some other bits too. Where I live, Jonestown is not part of the standard set of knowledge getting beat into everybody's head.

I still find it stupid and quite cold (not cool) joking about this stuff. I guess that makes me a jerk in some other's view. I can honestly say, I won't miss those people's respect. Anyway, we are getting this thread off track. So I will read responses but not add any more to it.

in actuality it was grape flavorade.

cyanide-laced artificially flavored fruit of the vine.

people make some stupid choices..

it is sad and horrible that in their blind willingness to follow, they dragged their children along with them.

as for taste - why yes, Blackie can be cruel and unusual

Shoot, I wish that was mine! Belongs to a lighting friend and roomate from years ago who got lucky busting his ass and still making a living at what he loves. A far cry from his old days when he was tooling all his stuff around in a beat up 1970s Chevy van. We used to have a ball trying out new mortars of his in the driveway (pissing off the neighbors) or burning newspapers in the garage to make smoke trying out new lights.

Ah, the glory days of being broke and loving every minute of life. Even if we were squints.

while im still fired up from that oprah thread, heres my little rant on myspace.

(let me just preface this by saying i havent come across this problem so far on any wombat pages, good work)

if youre gonna pimp your page with html, spend the whopping 10 minutes learning what the fuck youre doing.

i am so fucking sick of clicking on friends pages and then watching my browser (makes no difference which browser) just fucking CRAAAAAAAAAWL like im surfing with a commodore 64 on 28k dialup. i dont know enough about html to know the exact cause of this, but i know that ive made a fucking effort to make sure my page doesnt do that when my friends try to leave me a message.

earlier today my page just went beserk and fucked up my code and i had to redo it. but there must have been a glitch with myspace cause i put new code in like 10 times and it was still fucking up colours. eventually i went to one of those layout generators and tried a COMPLETELY fresh pile of html, and when i pasted it in my page LOOKED right.....but took forever to scroll down and basically acted like the commodore 64 i mentioned.

AT THIS POINT, LOGIC SAYS FIX YOUR FUCKING CODE SO PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY VISIT YOUR PAGE!!!!

which is what i did. not knowing my ass from my elbow with web shit, i read up for a few minutes through googling for basic html information, then used trial and error, and fixed it. if i can fucking do it, surely friends of mine who are in the motherfucking I.T industry should be able to speed up their pages. or even figure out how to delete the goddamn tags in html from layout generator sites.

RIGHT???

So now Im just a straggler?

I agree with David Aurora 100%. I can't count the number of pages that even freeze up my T1 connection. But Im probably guilty of code hacks that don't work in the persuit of a better looking myspace page.

Another thing I noticed about myspace...

Putting engineer for your occupation generates a lot of friend denials from the ladies... unless they are engineers themselves. Then their page has so many guys drooling to be friends it takes six week for them to get through the list.

Having my picture wasn't helping matter much either...

Maybe I took the picture from the wrong angle... seems IM "supposed" to take it with cellphone from the upper right looking down my shirt...

But being a lefty means my discoordination leads to a picture of my forehead and right shoulder.

I'll keep trying.

pounce

as interesting as myspace can be, the search functions are "teh suck".

and yes, why do folks think putting on multiple auto playing song and video clips is a good idea somehow? i too concur that myspace idiots have created the only webpages that have locked up my browser. i'm always on high speed internet, so i'd hate to imagine trying to load that shit with a slower connection.
