i bought an mbox2 a while back and then ended up getting a digi002 rack a little while later. I still have the mbox but i can't figure out how i can hook it up to the 002 to use the extra 2 preamps in it. does anybody have any idea how i might go about doing this?

Please tell me you're kidding ... Please.

Sigh .... you're not kidding are you ?

Oh well.... You can't. PT will only communicate with either one at the same time. There's no standalone operation.

BUT ... Theoretically I guess with a minor workaround you possibly could get those Mbox Pre's to work for you if you get a second computer / install PT on that one as well. Create a session with 2 mono Aux's (or a stereo if you like but I would go for 2 mono ones ... pan them hard L and R so 100% of the signal goes to either side.

Then ... instead of hooking up speakers to the Mbox ... you could take those signals into the 002 Rack ... input 5 and 6 for example.

I guess that should work.

Good luck.

That would work, Chris, but not the best. Better would be to set the "input" dial right up and the "USB" dial right down... to avoid latency.

Um. Or if it were an original baby blue Mbox, you could come out of the inserts.

Either way, you need to power it up, and I don't think using a USB power adaptor would be enough, I think you need to plug it into a computer.
