You need to "export" your I/O settings. In the I/O window (Setup drop-down menu) in PTLE, choose "export settings" and save it to a usb thumb drive or sumpin'. Then wherever you go, you can import those settings in the I/O window of whatever PT studio you are working out of..........I think:grin:

As stated above you can Export your settings then take the I/O setup file with you for Import. (Macintosh HD>Applications>Digidesign>Pro Tools>IO Settings)
If you are opening a new session from another studio in your own room, you can Import your I/O settings from 'Setup' > 'I/O...'
You should have a few I/O setups for just such occations.
OR
You can import session data to a template and not have to worry about going through the lengthy process of deleting duplicate paths or reassigning outputs etc.

But be NICE.
It's irritating to work on a project for, say, months and then have it go out to do ONE overdub somewhere and come back, with the whole thing reconfigured and changed, to continue working.

PT Session Guidelines (http://womb.mixerman.net/showthread.php?t=760)
Slave Sessions – Returning
These guidelines are for sessions being returned to the Master session containing the
completed work to be imported into the Master. These are in addition to applicable
Master session guidelines.
The final results of all work done in the Slave sessions should be
transferred back to the Master session.
This is the key to keeping track of all the final elements of the production
and the same convention used with tape reels.
Return all the tracks that were in the Slave session when you received it.
This is very important to confirm the sync of the new tracks, and so the
new tracks can be heard together with the Slave’s original tracks exactly
as they were when the work was done.
Make sure the session start time and frame rate are the same as when you
received the session, or note in the Session Info Document if not.
Very important when importing the tracks back into the Master. See the
Pro Tools Session Info Document (page 26) section for more information.
Clearly label in the comments and list in the Session Info Document all
tracks to import back into the Master session.
To eliminate any questions.
Make note of changes or edits done to the original tracks of the Slave in the
comments, as well as the Session Info Document, so they can be imported
or reproduced in the Master.
While working, changes are sometimes done to individual tracks,
submixes, or the entire song structure of the original Slave tracks that
must be imported or reproduced in the Master when the new tracks are
imported.
Include your name and contact information in the Session Info Document
incase the receiving studio has any questions.
But be NICE.
I'm always nice:Wink:

something i remember having dramas with ages ago and a quick fix:
i got some tracks from another studio with a different default output (something like they had "main output" and mine was "s/pdif"), and when i would change i/o settings it would fuck the automation of the tracks going to do the default output. the simple fix was before playing with the i/o setup i assigned all the stereo outs (tracks set to "main output" or whatever) to a stereo bus instead, adjusted the i/o, deleted the old paths etc, then assigned those tracks set to that stereo bus to my own default output ("s/pdif") and bob's your cross dressing aunty.
