Yep...we did.

:) Don't we canucks export enough to the world? You get Celine, Alan Thicke...can't we keep one gem here at home?

Alan Cross has been doing this show for CFNY (before it became cool and became "edge") for years (since the mid 80's?) and has been fantastic. His shows are well researched and, whats more, they're well presented.

Glad you found it and posted it :)

I couldn't listen to them so excuse me asking... is this sort of like what John Peel used to do with band interviews and the Peel sessions? (RIP John  )

Hmm..the power of the search...

Just realized that we did discuss Alan Cross a long time ago in this thread:

Alan Cross - Why Performers Hate their Record Labels (http://womb.mixerman.net/showthread.php?t=154)

Zoesch, I can't really describe what Alan Cross does to make his different than others I heard before..except he does bring a well researched, humorous angle to telling the history of music. He'll do the standard "this band played here" type of story, but then he'll also discuss the little-known aspects...

Gotta find a way to embed a version that you can hear.

If my teachers as spun a 45 in between lessons, I'd have probably gotten a PhD.
