A few more new ones up

Well I started mixing this record for a Indie label out West here. So far all is well. I just bought a HD rig that should be here in a week and will probably take me longer to get it working. ;-)

anyways, pretty fired up about this record as the band is pretty energetic and rockin. I have 4 new tunes up on my player. Cannot post them here, but check em out when you can. Going ole' schoo a bit on these. "Rockstar" is my fav so far. There should be 3 tunes by ANNEX and 1 by "The Meddling Kids" on the player. Pretty happy. Still some minor tweeks, but I like it so far.

i must write fast as my ears are fresh -

i think the reverb on the lead singer is too long - it sounds to cute. the hihat when played open is jumping out too much in the high end. I think the bass could come up just a little - I want more close snare and less reverb on the snare.

:grin: I agree.... completely and the original was less, but the label wanted more. Don't ask as it is a fight that I am still fighting. THe hat could be my piss poor mastering too. Not a mastering guy, just a engineer.

So reminds me of a 80's wanker tune too. Kinda cool though and gets the head movin.

Found myself tapping my foot along with the tune!
I think that you did a good job on the mix.
I am curious: are you going to re-mix when you get you HD system in?
