While I finish up the tweaks on the other tune, I figure I can start getting feedback on another song. I imagine this song will have some similar problems with the mix that the last song did.
Again, comments on everything are welcomed.

The guitars are great sounding but way too dominate to me...
and there's some bass gtr being masked because of it... (there is a bass gtr right?)
I'd bring the vox up
Pull the guitars down...
Pan the guitars less...
Do a headphone check for panning for the iPod'ers
Lemme hear the bass somewhere here and there...
The 3:29 outro section is uncertain and create a discordance to me when it first starts...
I like the song and the direction it's going...
Cool!

intro...let the melody line speak more fully.
first verse...pull stuff down to give the vox the podium.
getting some slight time bobbles in the drums and bass in first verse...
...chorus...vox up!
2nd verse...make that breakdown be a real breakdown...prune some of that drumming down.
I like the bgvox harmony...make sure the lead stays the lead.
at 3:30, thats a cool hold...make it more clean and open up the airspace by a few more milliseconds...come back in only at the last possible trailing edge of the beat, for more drama.
2nd listen:
maybe in the intro the lead part just needs more room...make the crunch guitars relenquish a bit of that.
Not hearing the relevance of the loping bass part in the verse...it would be great if it was working off the vocal, but its working against.
maybe you could let the 1.5k range of the lead vox speak a bit more... more intelligibility available?
I'm hoping for a real emotional peak at about 3:05, didn't get one. damn that missed opportunity.
Still liking the guitar bridge breakdown...
the last feedback note...can that modulate a bit?

What about that little squeally at 3:19????
I agree with Dwoz, I'm not sure sticking around for 4 minutes is helping the track hit an emotional peak.
...trying to channel Gil Norton...
Perhaps an edit, like removing a verse would help here. May be you could use the guitar breakdown at the end, earlier then jump back into the chorus???
...channel attempt fails...
Once again - great production of the guitar sounds. Maybe the level of the chunky guitars could come down and the panning less extreme. Otherwise I really like the sounds and parts.
Is it possible to give the snare a little more snap?
From the 40 second to 50 second mark the bassist is playing some really nice lines. I would give the bass a little more cut through for these parts, until the big guitars come in.
Oh I should add, I do like the track!

Thanks all for the excellent comments!
So, vox came up, guitars went down, a little funkiness on the feedback tail added.
Let me know!

Damn Volt.... this is a great mix.
The guitar sounds have a lot of personality, a "calling card" of sorts.
I also think the vocal balance works well for the style (listened to the revised mix).
I would probably put a little more "hair" on the bass guitar - a bit of overdrive/amp tone combined with a very subtle room, to give the bass a bit more weight and identity. There is a bit of a low mid "hole in the wall" which I think would benefit from this.
Also, and this is a matter of pure personal preference, but I think I would have elected to triple (add two doubles) the lead vocal in the choruses to give it a bit more punch - for me, a dryer-sounding vocal would be my choice here. Not to say that the delay sounds bad - but I would prefer the sonic image to be a bit "closer" and less scattered.
All in all though, a stellar job. People are gonna be calling you to get that guitar tone on their projects! :)

Thank you sir. As always, I appreciate the listen and the advice! I'll try to get some rogain to put some hair on the bass sound.
I'm glad you like the guitar sound though. I know I've made just as many shitty sounding ones, that's for sure.

man..... big improvement in the mixes. I'm becoming a huge fan of your guitars, dude. on the surface, they sound just like every other guitar in this genre.... but in reality, there's a subtlety that exists in your playing and tone that is unlike anything i've ever heard before.....
Awesome!
