So, last Friday morning my boss and very good friend had a serious heart attack. The Doctor said he shouldn't even be alive. He is doing ok at the moment but he will undergoing a triple bypass on Wednesday. If everyone could, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Son of a cardiac patient here, and hopefully a good neighbor to another. Prayers and all best at you.

Done.

Doctors are good and all but not God.

My annoying uncle Jerry was given six months to live with his double whammy of diabetes and cancer.

That was in 1981.

Being almost 50 and still acting and eating like a kid, a heart attack scares me the most........the mojo's going out.....

My mum had a bypass of the Aorta (main artery) when she was 37. She is now 61. Apart from a little scar barely visible on her chest, you wouldn't even know. :)

The recovery time is a few months, and he will need to get walking as soon as he is able, (it's a great way to aid in healing and promote blood circulation) but the improvement in the quality of his life after the op will be astounding. He'll be like a new man.

Although huge for the patient, the op has become a pretty routine for heart surgeons and the risks have become much less than they used to be.:very happy:

Your friend will be right in no time. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

You'll see, he will be as good as new

My Father had a quadruple bypass 12 years ago...still going along pretty well. They are very, very good at making this kind of surgery nearly routine so take solace in that. I will mojo in your direction...speedy recovery and good health to your boss.

Cheers,

Thanks to everyone who sent the prayers, good thoughts and good mojo. His surgery was a success. The doctors said that prior to the surgery his heart was only working at about 10% and after his the bypass surgery it immediately went to 30%. According to the doctors this is very good. He is not necessarily out of the woods but the worst is over.

Thanks again to everyone.

Hoping he has a full recovery. My dad was recently hospitalized with CHF. Not a good candidate for surgery but he is showing signs of improvement and is getting drugs and physical therapy.
