... I am lame. I am beyond lame.
Due to some non-musical committments, I have no song this time 'round. I will not be late. I will not catch up. I have no song.

Sorry 'bout that.

I do have a cool new job, though.

Anyway, post 'em if you've got 'em.

thanks
M

OK,

I'm laggin' on this one.

I have some chords and an idea. I have about half the lyrics I need.

What I lack is much free time in the next few days to finish this thing up.

So: I'm not saying I won't pull this off, just that I will be more than slightly late.

Sorry about that.

I'll be missing the boat on this one as well.

I tossed around a couple of ideas but nothing stuck.

Sorry.

The good news is that I'm already working on June's challenge and should (hopefully) have something to submit for that one.

Grapestomper,

Looks like it may be all you this time. If time permits to finish it (you can break my lateness record on Day 23, BTW), we'd all love to hear it.

Best,

I too could not achieve liftoff for May.

I will say that there will be at least one song submitted for June. This one is already puttin' on its funky suit and gettin' down . . . . . . . yeow . . . . . . . . . . . . . (get back up again) . . . . .

More than slightly, indeed.

I dusted this off while waiting for McAllister to put up the challenge for THIS may. I came up with the additional lyrics and chords that I needed, so here it is at (long) last.

May Day
Michael Walters, 2009

Deep in the darkling forest,
Echoes our rising chorus,
Content that you ignore us,
We watch in wonder
At the ways of the world,
And all it has become.

Last of the Elder Children,
Left since the world's division,
Banished and not forgiven,
Sing our song sadly
For the Lady we love,
At the rising of the sun.

Oh Queen of the Angles,
Queen of the May,
Under the moon,
And under the star of day.
"Who can fill the cup for me?"
I thought I heard her say...

Down in the valley, stirring,
Smoke in the chimneys, curling,
Mortals and beasts of burden
Move to the meadows,
To dance their delight,
And to bathe in morning dew.

Now in this dawning hour,
Wakens our Lady's power.
Walk through the world in flower,
Dance among mortals,
'neath the laughter of leaves
Of Oak and Beech and Yew.

Oh Queen of the Angles,
Queen of the May,
Under the moon,
And under the star of day.
"Who can fill the cup for me?"
I thought I heard her say...

Deep in the darkling forest,
Echoes our rising chorus,
Content that you ignore us,
We watch in wonder
At the ways of the world,
And all it has become.

Hey, cool! I'm always down for a little taste of Rivendell..

I was wondering where you were going with the 'fill my cup' thing in the other thread. It's nice to find out.
