Hi people and alike!

I'm in middle of doing FOH outdoor festival tour with a band and, as usual, came to a point where one starts to think some very esoteric shit. This time the target of contemplation was these garments, raincovers, whatever, that cover the mixing raisers in outdoor festivals. Sometimes everything's fine but sometimes, just sometimes, the material used for covering the raiser is acoustically just something resembling woodhsed. So- does somebody know acoustically transparent material that will provide shelter for rain and sun? Is there such thing? And if there is, how much does it cost...?

Sorry for stupid thread:Roll eyes:

I would love to have a tent for over the board that didn't make things sound sucky. I do a festival every year and if the weather is good, we get that tent off us in a hurry. Makes a HUGE difference in sound.

I'm not about to spring for a 16 x 24 cover for the stage, but a 10x 10 for FOH (really it's M.I.T. (mixer in tent)) , I'd pop for it in a heartbeat.

Doubt it exists though. Can't imagine how something would not let water through but still let H.F. sound through and not be reflective.

Great. Nice to hear I'm not the only one who thinks sound on those tents suck ass. I also do pretty much festival M.I.T (That's great way to put it:)) and now I'm also doing few gigs as head of stage. Kinda puts me into position where I could start moaning about this to the stage-contractor. You know, go mental and tell them that somewhere else somebody else had better tents and make them do the research :Coolio:

Of course there are those bigger dome-like tents that open up very high on the stage side. They're good but you doin't really get that anywhere except in the biggest festivals...
