then have a listen to this and flame away!!

its just a bit of fun that me and my friend recorded, hence the silly intro etc, im pretty pleased with it, although it has been mixed monitorless, so im a bit worried about inconsistencies. also, the verse vox are a bit of a debate between me and my friend: hes very self conscious about his voice (dunno why) and he insisted that i whack effects galore on his voice, and i think its too much in the verses although i managed to break him down on the choruses, and im really pleased with the choruses... its just the verses that im worried about.

so please, listen, advise, flame. espesh any ideas about the verses!

cheers,
ben

if you would, just think about one word: "continuity".

there's many things that serve that master, many ways to serve that concept.

you just need a bit more of it.

since you're a "noob"...here's your roast:

in many ways, making and recording songs is a lot like food poisoning. There's two specific things that happen early on in both processes, that set the stage for later. Good to see that you've "got things moving".

rock on!

I'm with Dwoz on the continuity remark. Needs something to sew those sections together. But there is definitely something really charming about the wacky old-school nintendo sounding synths. Whimsy isn't easy to pull off, but it's working here.

I don't care about the effects thing on the vocs. Doesn't bother me a bit - just that the vocals sound... disconnected(?)... from the rest of the song. Not sure what to suggest to remedy that.

thanks a lot guys, really helpful comments... continuity is always a problem for me, im gonna try and write a little bridge for the verse/chorus section. the chorus used to have less piano and more of the same verse synth sound but i prefer the piano, so ill just try and write a bridge.

as for the vox, thats exactly the way i feel, and i kind of feel that the effects are doing it... although maybe thats wrong.

anyone any other idea's?

ben
