Awright fellas, long time no touch.
My brother and I wrote, produced and performed this a few weeks ago among all that carry on and a friend of ours mixed it for us. I was wondering if you would care to comment how it sounds to you.
The lyrics are in Turkish.
Thanks for your time.

Barish this sounds really good.
exciting, full of energy. great mix.
If you forced me to pick something to have a beef with
it would be the chorus effect on the distorted guitar.
Something about chorus on a distorted guitar
makes me go---audio infraction...$25.00 fine...
But even I feel that is splitting hairs on a bald man.
great stuff sir.
Infraction aside, I think this mix and song rock.

Even with all the knowledge I'm gaining from folks on this forum, I still consider myself a pretty poor mixer (getting better, but still have a lot to learn, so I'm not even going to try to keep up with the others here)... however, I really enjoyed listening to this, and for whatever it's worth, I would move the chorus effect Archtop mentioned right over to the background vocals, a la Beatles production (thinking "Magical Mystery Tour") just to set them apart... It sounds like you may be already doing that, but I'd make it even more pronounced. Yes, fun song, great energy. Nice!

Hi Archtop,
Just for the info.
I played all the guitars apart from a couple of additional clean fill-ins that Barish played here and there. No chorus was used on distorted guitars. They are layered and what you hear is the natural chorus. They went through a distortion on my Boss wah and into Barish's 40W Peavey bass amp. I used Musicman Silhouette.
The clean guitars are the same, all layered with no reverb. In the chorus section I doubled the electric (Gretsch-Nashville) with acoustic (Washburn).
Lead guitar is again Gretsch that went through the same distortion/amp set-up.
Thank you for your feedback.

Well Gentlmen,
That's my 7th listen Today
Everytime I get a big grin. I know you guys wanted a critique but the ONLY thing I can think of is that guitar solo is just a hair and I do meanjust a hair too bright for me. But that's nothing I love it just as it is. Is one of my new favorite records. Really really
B, I have to tell you. You KILLED the vocal!

Sounds great, gentlemen. I love the way you used the acoustic guitars. Catchy tune! The intro pulled me right in.

Many thanks for your comments, friends. They are greatly appreciated.
Just for your info, the mix was done on a PTHD Accel system into a Sony DMX-100R desk with various outboard supplements, by our dear friend Baris Büyük (http://www.muziktek.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=49) in Istanbul, whom also sometimes participates in Gearslutz as bbuyuk. Monitors were NS-10M and Everything But The Box Terra LAII, both driven by Bryston 4Bs.
Regards,
B.

I've removed the link to Barish's mix, at his request. Deeply sorry if you haven't had a chance to listen yet. I didn't get MY chance yet, and that's too bad, because Barish usually doesn't mess around!

I downloaded it....
The tune is amazingly infectious....
Even after 14 hours of not hearing it and having other music in the rotation my brain keep going back to Dunya...
For me NOT to have some metal tune in my head is rare...
