There is a great new guitar magazine which has been out for about a year now (four quarterly issues), Fretboard Journal (http://www.fretboardjournal.com/). It is very well writen, and is an extremly nice example of the publisher's art (high quality photography, great heavy paper, etc... if you've ever seen any of the Taunton Press magazines like Fine Woodworking or Fine Cooking, you know the kind of magazine I'm talking about). Granted, I'm a bit biased because there is a very nice article in the current issue about Minnesota's guitar building comunity, with a very nice bit about my dad. But there is also a very nice article about John Hartford, an excelent article about Steve Cropper (one of my favorite guitarists ever), and another one about Bill Frisell. It's a bit expensive, but it's a heck of a nice magazine which I highly recomend.

I will be down at Bookpeople tomorrow looking for it.

If they don't have it in stock I shall give the poor hapless bastard that I have questioned such a look of derision and disdain that they will be shamed into carrying it.

Lookin' out for my peeps and whatnot.

It's an excellent magazine. I mean, I'm obviously biased towards this particular issue and all....But every issue has been very good.
