View Full Version : Gotta throw this out there..

In the short history of Cape there always seems to be someone who wants to throw a monkey wrench into the works and this needs to stop happening.

I know for a fact that no one has ever made a dime from the efforts poured into the Capes, and for that matter, from this website in general. It doesn't even support itself.

The whole concept of Cape is geared toward having fun, learning from each other and enjoying each other's talents, much like the site is in general and there are some great minds donating time, talent and tons of effort to make it happen and ensure that it's a pleasant experience for all who participate.

If any one has a reservation about participating in what goes on here, then don't join in and don't bother to bitch about it. Constructive comments are always welcome and carefully considered, but being an reductive ass will get you the well deserved boot.

Read that again.

If you still have some kind of reservation or mistrust about participating, then feel free to tell me about it in a pm so I can offer you a chance to kiss my fucking ass in private because I happen to know every one of the people organizing this and I will vouch for their honesty, honor and good clean intentions. Nobody's getting fucked in Cape, ever.

I know that for the most part I'm preaching to the choir, but the new guys coming around need to know this in no uncertain terms.

Do we need to re-group the members of "Banned-Aid" now?

ah, but my dear friend BBKong...you're again caught in a lie. Or at least an egregious omission:

you're forgetting that some singer is going to have to deal with my lyrics.

well...maybe "fucked" is a strong word. "collateral damage" might be more apropos.

Well, I'm not overly fond of nitpickers who do it solely for the joy of picking at ghostly nits. It makes my monkey butt all red and irritated.

Ah, but that's easy. Just sing every other word. Take the ones that don't get used and write a whole nother song. It's a twofer!

Last time I checked, participation in CAPE was 100% optional.

I'm pleased as punch that it is offered and am quite willing to accept the more than reasonable terms. It's probably a total pain in the ass to organize it and make it happen. Lots of work is needed to make the results available on this site and it has always been done in a professional manner in the past, to my knowledge. As far as I can tell, nobody has made shit on doing all this work. It seems to be done for the love of the music and the friendly competition and bragging rights that come with a successful team effort.

Anyone who thinks that CAPE is some scam intended to rob a talented songwriter of his work and precious bodily fluids should refrain from participating.

Because CAPE is 100% optional.

Haha, such maroons!

On CAPE V, the team that produced my song decided to re-write the lyric, replacing all words greater than three syllables in length with either "baby", "rock", or "crikey". (several 'down-underers in the lot...)

The result?

Baby baby, crikey baby
To rock it baby, crikey rock it
baby, baby, baby, baby
rock, rock, crikey rock.

it went on like that for about 4 verses.

Hehehehe.

He slowly turns and steps away from the thesaurus...

Crikey, though. That's pretty cold.

Some people jump into the pool before they check out the depth, some don't.

I didn't see anyone saying anyone was ripping anyone off. Some legitimate concerns were raised and corrections were made as a result.

You can mouth off all you want but that's the reality and Cape is better for it. So pucker up arsehole 'cause i see you as the kisser rather than the kissee. Take care anyway Logan

Well Logan,
one thing you seem to be forgetting is the part about it being fun to participate in CAPE while making music.
And as I am here to have fun and enjoy it, I don't see how this thread can possibly evolve into something positive.
I believe we've spent enough time discussing this.
Thanks and good luck.
