Your October challenge:
You all kow the nursery rhyme/song Mary Had A Little Lamb, right? A simple little melody.
Your job: steal the melody. You can change the time signature, lyrics, melodic rhythm, key, harmony, and anything else, but the original melody has to be there. And it has to be a full song. The melody can be used in a verse or chorus or bridge.
Assuming the key of C, the melody can be reduced (by removing repeated notes) to this: E, D, C, D, E, D, E, G ("Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb").
- - -
So: take the 8 note pattern from Mary Had A Little Lamb and write your own song around it.
Enjoy.
See you at Hallowe'en.
