Attention: Songwriters

I'm one of the Cape potential producers. None of us are "in" yet, we're merely candidates seeking sonic opportunities.

This round of Cape is very experimental and part of that is your opportunity to pitch your songs to the candidates. We still have to select a song and pitch our production ideas to the committee.

I've listened to all the songs. I have some I like but thought I'd give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

I prefer sparse demos rather than finished productions. I like lyrics that make me want to ask questions; melodies that haunt me; chord progressions that take left turns.

Feel free to PM me to take another look at your song if you think I might fit with your vision.

I'll add that you've got about 90 seconds to get my attention too.

At most I'll hear the first chorus.

One guitar, one vox. I don't really care to hear production ideas on a tune I'm thinking about framing either. They distract from the essential song elements.

Well, for guitar and vox, check out the two that I put up. That's all they are (and those two aren't even recorded that well :-) ). I think the lyrics are pretty good, but then again, i wrote'em... Chord structure isn't all that difficult, but hey, i figured since you asked i'd post!

I'm afraid that I don't have much in the way of sparse demos.
I don't actually even make demos.
I make songs.
I finish them to the best of my ability, 'cause that's what I do.

Not to step on your desires, just admitting that what I create doesn't fit this criteria.
