...Where do I pick up my cheque?

*We will be dispensing modest sums to qualified posters who are in a position to pick the cheques up in person only. The location in question is the ISS so it might be wise to calculate the cost/benefit ratios prior to lift-off.

I hope you'll consider adding (I think it was called something like) Paint The Desert Wind, if you haven't already submitted it. That was you and Goes211 wasn't it?

I will also have something to submit in the next couple of days.

Oki.

I'm not sure if it's only our own songs or songs that we've produced, recorded and played a little on.

Anyway...

I'll take a chance.

This is a local band with two singers/guitarists + drummer and a bass-dude. Really good guys and easy to have in the studio.

I recorded, produced, mixed, mastered (yikes!) and played keyboards on their 12 song demo/album.

No label. I have their permission. They wanna be heard.

I'll start with one of them. This song was recorded in six hours including setup, vocals and fx. Catchy indie-rock. Or whatever they're calling it nowadays.

This is already finished and no changes is going to be made. I (we) just want to know if you moist pro's think it's good or not.

Enjoy.

Les,

I like this. And, after hearing this as an erstwhile Van Isle resident myself, I'd say you made the right move.

I am not qualified to comment on the technicalities of your mix.

As a consumer, I'd do things a little differently....

With the Bass/Drums as they are, the AcGtr on the right I'd make tighter and louder; compression needed I think. I think it needs to be tighter and louder against the harp, the squeezebox, and the other slide acoustic. And I'd like to hear the lead vox a little more forward in the mix. J. Knutston springs to mind here. Don't take me too seriously! I'm a complete amateur, and don't know shit from shinola, but this one resonates with me, and this is my opinion.

Dave.

Hi everyone...the holidays are now past us, and we (is that "ME" in the royal tense? ) can spend a respectable amount of time working on things around here, and generally stop being lazy. We'll run through these new submissions post-haste.

thanks for your patience.

Hey, DwozVark, I have some stuff, but I'm busy tweaking it (check the Cirque du Soleil forum).

I know you guys are working on technical issues with the radio also, and I'm confident that everything will come together

Wow, Is this a new thing on this forum that you can upload files? Pretty kewl.

I wanna be on your radio.

I recorded this with my friend and drummer Joe (who some of you may remember from the "Melodies" track) at his home studio. You're not hearing any bass cause there is none-we're like a reverse White Stripes duo.

I hope this upload works. Laters!

Hey there,

Here's a track I recorded with my band The New Caledonia. It's going to be the first 'single' for us off our first album. It's kinda a pyscedelic surf rock/eastern/battles style track. The version here is the mock master.

I'd be interested in any feed back of any kind:grin:

Cheers..

fuck it, i'll bite. my songs are just collecting dust at this point til i get a release organised

this song (S.L.I.M.P) was one of those annoying fuckers that i wrote after the album was pretty much recorded (women pick the worst times to fuck me over.....), so its a bit rawer than the other shit on the record. the bass and drums went down with us playing live in the studio together, and i then ditched my guide tracks and put a bunch of overdubs on. seems to be the song off the record that people listen to so far

enjoy. or dont.
