This is the place to do it!
I'd love to hear your thoughts, questions, comments, etc. I'll do my best to remain active in this thread and answer any questions that come up to the best of my ability.
Thanks for reading!

Just curious.
What was the purpose of signing up again with a . at the end of your name?

Dude...that nothingness is so passé.

Simply, Azraphael is a CAPE participant like everyone else. He does not have moderator privileges. It is very much Azraphael writing, but it is us posting for him in a locked thread.
Enjoy his perspective, it should be interesting, educational and entertaining.

Yeah, what Goes said...
We want to keep the thread itself in a locked room to keep the flow simpler to follow. But, since U'm not an admin, mod, or severly endangered rare species of Havarti, I'm stuck doing things the roundabout way.
So, the easiest way seemed to be for me to write it, and send it to a moderator who can put it up in the thread, under my ever-so-clever nom de pen, Azraphael..
Uhm.. .the second period there is just to show that the sentence is done. There is no Azraphael.. that I'm aware of.
And don't worry, I've got hard copy of all of it. If they change a word, I'll be sure to let ya know. ;)
Cheers,
Dave

Az, CAPE V was all caps... also the acronym changed.
I actually wrote a paper for my uni course on CAPE... will dig it up sometime.

Really? Obviously, that's not the way I recall it. Most likely, I'm mistaken... I did that bit just from observational memory. i can't say I went and dug up old threads to check or anything.
But, now that I've defined my terms, I guess I'll stick with them. Seems easier that way... and besides, we all know what event I'm talking about, right? :)

Now that I'd love to read... if you get a chance to dig it up and don't mind sharing, please send it over!

Alright:
Where did the name CaPE come from? What does it stand for? What came first, the name or the acronym? When did it change from CaPE to CAPE and why?
It was initially Mixerman's idea to have something related to his persona, and I believe he initially had it as Collaborative Production Experience...though I have no idea where the "A" came from. Indeed, I always thought the little "A" was silly, but never made an issue out of it. I also thought "Experience" was too reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix, so I suggested changing it to Experiment.
I decided to change CaPE to CAPE in CAPE V because, like I mentioned above, I always thought the little "A" was silly...so I just re-christened the "A" to stand for "Audio", and changed "Experiment" back to "Experience" since, after four successful runnings of it, CAPE was no longer really an "experiment" now, was it?

Well, I'll be damned. I learned something new today. Thanks, Brendo!
Now please excuse me while I go write a correction statement...

...FFS, don't tell your wife you have all of this free time.
Thing is, I DON'T have any free time. At least not for the next 6 weeks or so. :)
As for how all this might affect my relationship with my wife for the next little while, there's a hint in Track 3 about some of the things going on at home that have nothing to do with CAPE...

Thanks for the kind words, Mac!
The keyboards thing came out of the fact that Eb, apparently, sucks like a hoover to play in. Since padboy's playing a B3, it's not like he has an easy-transpose button or anything.
So, we changed the key. Then it got confusing for a little while, but more on that will be in the next Producer entry.
Thanks for reading guys! Nice to know I'm not just typing it for myself. :D

The coloured type is designed to allow people to follow the individual stories more easily... so, each voice I'm using will type in a different colour. Hopefully, it helps to identify who is "speaking" during each post.
Also, considering how much text I've written so far, it would be a pretty long page full of the same black text over and over again. A little colour never hurt anyone, no matter what the emo kids and gothlings might say. :)

You know I love ya. :D
I don't mean it in any disparaging way. I don't make the news, I just report it.
Please keep in mind, everyone, that this story is just MY bullshit opinions based on MY interpretation of events. Nothing more. This isn't meant to be a debate, or to start fights. I just hope I'm writing something interesting to read, that's all.
It DEFINITELY isn't meant to be a critque on anyone else's way of doing things, but rather a critique on how I do things... including how I react to the actions of other people.
It's already been shown by Brendo that I can get shit wrong. That won't be the last time, I'm sure. Thankfully, I've been blessed by being put on teams where the people seem to understand and appreciate this, so things are cool between me and all my teammates.
At least, I think they are. :icon_eek:
So, if there's ever anything in the story that you don't like or find offensive, regardless of the context, blame me first. chances are good that any friction resulting from the situations I describe in the story are mnore a result of my own skewed interpretations of things than anything else.
In other words, it's all just my opinion. Don't take it too seriously, folks. :D
Cheers,
Dave

Ha.
Gotta love the pic in track 13.
Just to imagine that you took the time to do it makes me giggle.
I can picture the situation :
" ...errr...honey...what is this about again ?
- ...ahem...just experimenting with acoustics, dear.
- do you think you could possibly limit your research to this area referred to as the studio ?"
Although I must say, in my house the girls would prolly just raise their eyebrows in unison, step over the cable, move the mic stand slightly away and go about watching their favourite show.
PS : That's a Fender Deluxe, right ?

Just as a point of clarification, I didn't take that photo. One of my team members did. And, from the tone of your message, it seems you think this was done just for the sake of humour.
I assure you that's not the case. Couch and Plant are going to be superstars. Just you wait.

BAHAHAHA!
I heard that you pleaded with both of them not to finish off the whisky keg before the deadline, and they both promptly barfed on your shoes
At least, that was what I read on the team forum
Right then. The furniture is intact, the walls are undamaged, and apart from a slight stain on the couch cushion (I’m still looking for the culprit) everything appears to be in order.
Hey, it wasn't my turn to walk the dog!

Uhm...
I can explain...
Really I can....
Okay, so I begged a little. As far as the whiskey goes, though, I think Couch drank most of it, really... all he does is sit around all day. I think he might be dead, actually, but noone really knows how to check vitals on a couch.
Hey, it wasn't my turn to walk the dog!
You're right. I think it was Tom's turn. But weren't you supposed to be taking care of Binky The Excessively Evil Gerbil?
The couch in that pic looks a lot better than it smells :icon_eek:
Sounds better than it smells, too. Let's be honest here... of all the 5 senses, smell is the one that Couch isn't very good at around others. Everyone has their faults, after all.
