The Time Jumpers, a group that includes my lovely wife, have been nominated for two Grammys, including best country instrumental. I wanted to share a video of the instrumental for those of you who might be interested.

And if you're a NARAS member and haven't voted yet, you might consider this to be a self serving plea to vote for my wife's band. :)

Do I have enough credits to become a voting member of NARAS? I have five original compositions released as part of exercize music programs, one commercially released remix, and one commercially released classical music recording. Most of my career has been working in live settings or broadcast.

Carolyn's the blonde - http://youtube.com/watch?v=tbacmmKvdeA i another clip from the DVD with her singing. The pedal steel guitar (lap steel has no pedals) was played by the legendary John Hughey, who passed away just a few weeks ago.

Seeing this group was the wake-up call that led my wife and I to move from San Francisco to Nashville.

Nice.

Good to see yaz, Dave.

You sent me a couple of .mp3 links, a couple of years ago that just were amazing but on video you can really see the musicianship as well as hear it.

I really need to catch them live.

thanks

Congrats to the band!
a year ago, while my son and I were in nashville, Bob invited us to go see the time jumpers- I was blown away- and even better, my son, was 21 and into really ugly metal, was enthralled by it, and has brought up how great they were a number of times since: He was especially taken with John Hughey on the pedal steel.

I didn't know he had passed. He was a giant player. damn.

Yep, he was a great player. But I find it really interesting that Time Jumpers shows seem to cross genre boundaries - The other night, Jack White and a couple of the other guys from the Raconteurs were at one table while a couple of the guys from the Kings Of Leon were at another table; all of 'em seem to be knocked out by the band. I met Sheryl Crow there one night, and Norah Jones, and Vince Gill. And Lee Hazelwood. And Robert Randolph. I wasn't there that night, but Jimmy Buffet T-Bone Burnette were there a month or so ago... Over the last few years, Michael Wagoner has also brought out a few of the bands that he was working with; I suspect that the sheer musicality of the musicians is why folks come out; plus, Western Swing is happy music - folks need that from time to time.

Hiya Dave!
Couldn't happen to nicer folks! Sounds fabulous! Can't decide what I like better, "Fidoodlin'" (killer chops) or "It's All Your Fault"... Going to stick with "It's All Your Fault", cuz, you know, Carolyn's singing...

Oh yeah, and I know precisely who's she's talking about...

Dave! I had no ideer your wife was in that band. I think it was RAP 5 (a fifth of) that turned me on to them.

Been a fan ever since. Awesome stuff. And as I rediscovered recently, there's nothing like all the musicians in the same room. We still sucked, but we sucked together.

Great stuff.

Better start dusting off a place on the shelf about the size of a Grammy cause this bands got it goin on... Man, This is amazing stuff... You reach a place as a musician and you think you got it goin on and then you see stuff like this and its right back to square one... Thanks to this I'll be up all night...:)
Good luck....

Hmmm, I was thinking Meryl Streep...

In any case, best of luck. But even if they don't win a grammy, 2 nominations is more than enough to solidify a career.

Sorry to hear about John Hughey. Fantastic musician!

That would be cool, wouldn't it?
