View Full Version : Two peculiar bugs.....

I've noticed a couple of rather peculiar bugs with Logic 8 that I am curious if anyone else has run into.

1. When opening up a Logic 7.2 session, and using the environment (yeah, I know, I can't seem to ween myself off of it), hitting a solo button there often results in dead silence.

I sometimes like to be able to use environment solo rather than S or Option+S in the arrange, so this is inconvenient to say the least.

2. When assigning multiple tracks to a record/edit group (as I normally do for tracking sessions), one or more channels will pop out of record (alternatively, stay record armed but not registering anything). When I try to re-engage them, an error message lets me know more than one track is assigned to the same input, even though that is clearly not the case. If I manually engage those channels from the environment, they will go back into record without complaints.

Anyone else seen this behavior?

Haven't seen those issues, although you're a far more sophisticated user than I am, and I haven't had the occasion to open a version 7.2 session in 8 yet. Also, I think the most tracks I've grouped together for a tracking session is a grand total of 2. I'll play around with larger groups to see if I can replicate the issue you're seeing.

Hi Otek,
I am getting the solo bug, opening 7.2 projects in 8, sometimes it would solo using the arrange solo button.
I was getting the rec arm bug in 7.2, the only time I had it in 8, was pilot error.
I dont really open the environment, unless I need to create/delete something, so all my bugs occur using mixer/arrange.
I havent had a chance to check when/where it happens exactly, I will let you know.
cheers, Morph

I'll admit that I save that kind of stuff for the mixer/arrange windows as well. I often use the environment for wiring up more geeky (or freaky, YMMV) stuff.

If I remember, I'll try to give this a shot and see what happens.
