View Full Version : I prefer to mix like an 8 track cartridge...

but that's just me.
Sometimes I mix like a cassette, often alternating between cr02 and METAL formulas, and I love the old school feel of the normal bias kmart C-60's, but that quarter track with four interuptions is the way I like to mix.
Maybe that's why I'm so famous.
lol
Jesus, there is so much to do here. These are the most rancid, cocksmoking smilies and icons I have ever seen. First I gotta make the interface a tad wider, like your mommas ass...
yowza!
shake that thing, baby!
damn, she knows what I like...
THEN, I gotta make this the most comfortable forum in existence. I'll get right on that... Cheers!

I'll just do my best and be ultra-nice, since I've already got all kinds of infraction points...
Crunch, you're the best, your work is the kind they speak of in legends.
Now build us a nice cosy place. Pretty please.
You're amazing.
(I'll probably get infraction points for brown-nosing now).

So, does anyone by chance happen to own 7 or 8 lava lamps and a nice, new Apple laptop? I need some footage.
Which means you'd also need to be able to film it, on a tripod.
And a way to get me the footage, preferably uncompressed.
Or, can someone send me a new Apple laptop, and 7 or 8 nice lavalamps?
Of course we have a couple lavalamps, but they are rancid from being left on forever. We have a couple Apple laptops, but they are all disguised as Dell servers and workstations. Not quite as sexy, but they are black, like my men.
So they don't look the same.
I can easily do a still composite, I would just rather build a loop of the lava lamps drooling, yada, yada... but I wanted to do a desk, facing from about a 70 degree angle in front, as opposed to the facing from the top from mixerman.net. The shot needs to have an assortment of martini glasses and shakers, bottles, ashtrays, girls telephone numbers, change, a cell phone, kinda like there was a party there, mixerman emptied his pockets, and is now crashed while we see his stuff.... And pretty dark, culminating in a black bg...
So how do we do this again?
Ideas?
meep!

I'm thinking composite is the way to go...much easier to get all the stuff you need in there. Could look cool if you make it look like a collage on purpose...unless, of course, if you can set up a shot with all these elements...probably quite complicated.
Also, you are talking about a desk as in an office, not a mixing desk/console, right ?
Lemme see if I can find you some stuff.

And we have to have a place where everyone has their cellphones, the studio pile. They ring, etc... you can click on them to get messages... leaving one would be a trip... recording the data through flash and leaving a file on the server...

Maybe make the heading thing in flash, so one can move everything around in there, and click on them and go to new parts... so if you clicked on the weekly world news, it would open to the article... cellphone brings you to cellphone pile... I just had to slap something up there so it wouldn't say vBulletin...
I'm putting the old smilies back on here... somehow...

Mixerman loves SSL. Don't let him fool you. If you get him on the phone, he'll confide to you just how much he loves the beefy mic pres and fabulously simple "classic" automation of the G series. Then he'll tell you how badly they fucked it up by updating to G+.

Zerman calls me regularly to ask advice on his SSL automation, or to just bail him out when he's confused and the clients are breathing down his neck. Just yesterday I taught him the secret fix-all command for his beloved vintage G series computer.
I told him, when in doubt:
1.) Format EX
2.) Label EX
3.) Revise Mix -100 EX
If you've performed steps 1 and 2 properly, you shouldn't need number 3.
Still haven't heard the mix he was right in the middle of.
Guess it worked.

I like the new skin, however, I'm finding the picture at the bottom at little offensive (at least it's a "J"). Got anything in GML at least?

I took that pic at Cello a couple of years ago. I hate that fucking console. But it was the only room open for pics at the time.
Go figure.
Four vintage Neve and an API room, all full. The J room empty.
