I signed into one of my artist pages at myspace today to read that they are now sportin' an online store for artists there to sell their tunes!
Apperantly, it's on a 'by song' basis and the artists set the price.
I haven't had sufficient time to read the contract yet, or scrutenize the details, but at first glance, I am thinking that this is a very hefty step in the myspace-walk.
Gotta run, literally--with the ansty Labrador here.

It's all here: http://www.snocap.com/about/faq/
The most important part for you (and me, I'm living now in France as well ) is
"Today, only sound recording copyright owners who are residents of the United States can use SNOCAP"
Last time I checked France didn't belong to the US (NTTAWTT).

That Rupert Murdoch fella who owns myspace is a slippery customer..I also read recently that if you check out the small print anything that you place on myspace that is your original work belongs to them. Not sure how true that is but it was being widely discussed.

So, huh ...
I mean, I thought that, huh ...
Isn't that myspace thing about, huh, like, getting rid of the music business as it was, and huh, making this belonging to the artists or something ...
I don't know, I'm just a guy on the internet, but, huh, I mean ...
I don't know about this, really ...
Maybe we should start a better "myspace" over here ...
:D

Maybe.... you're thinking of Sellaband, at least they get bands to make records in studios with engineers and producers
This is already a better space than my space. The producers forum on there is rubbish!

In other news, Myspace has entered into a partnership with hocap to allow users to purchase "services" from all the teenage tramps in one's "extended network."
