had a gig just come through our space. besides our auditorium, we have a mid sized convention space which hosted the bridal show last weekend.
production on it was straightforward. flown pa, four pieces of truss for lights and video, pretty normal setup. the production company was the best one in town, a company i worked at a number of years ago. cool folks. the show went great.
also, there were a heck of a lot of attractive ladies at the event. that made it pleasant to work at. if not for being perhaps more temptation than i ought to have in front of me.
that said, i still wanted to do things to entertain myself. better senses stopped me from following through with these ideas, but here is what i came up with...
perhaps taking some mid sized road box and labeling it with white gaff as "hidden dressing room camera" and leaving it near the dressing rooms. (all bride show models are like the first out, least experienced, unpaid want to be models in the area. i remember that from working in the voice over division of a talent agency). that means these girls would actually believe that stuff, and probably not find the humor in it that i do.
also, since we were around so many trade show booths, perhaps sectioning off some of the front of house area (directly adjacent to the show booths) and giving it some business title like "The Divorce Center" or "Quick Discount Divorces". maybe even with a discount paternity test.
maybe next year. so i have my plan ready.
