nice floyd vibe there..

maybe the hat and Cymbals are a little loud? Not sure about the triplet fills the drummer does all the time, but thats just me...

Thanks for taking the time to listen and post Ace.

Yeah it is very Floydish without a doubt. I think that is the first thing everyone noticed. I was worried on first listen that it sounded like one of their songs but I could not come up with one.

Appreciate the feedback!

It really does sound Pink Floyd... but it's just cuz the spacey vibe borrows heavily from that area... And the intro is kinda a direct steal. But that's not a problem in and of itself.

The good - overall decent playing and the lyrics come off as genuine. Not overly clever or surprising, but straightforward and sincere enough to come off.

The bad - The drums destroy any chance of this song sticking to my ribs. If it's not an electric kit, it sounds like one and a wimpy one at that. And the fills are very repetitive.

As far as song structure - it never seems to GO anywhere, and the final damning indication of that is the fade. Bad fade. Bad.

I don't mean to slag. It's just that I WANT this song to stick to my ribs. But it's undercooked. Not fully formed. If it had some DRAMA and some tension and a strong structure... different story altogether.

But if I'm such a friggin' genius, why am I hanging out in an internet songwriting forum instead of writing my next masterpiece <g>?

Cymbals are to crunchy (good term eh?)

Drums are too pristeen...warm them up a bit and get some low end on those toms.

Lastly the drums are up front a bit too much in their present sonic state.

I think by addressing the kit first you'll find many other aspects of the mix will fall into place nicely

Then again I could be toatally wrong

you could not come up with one ??
Especialy the intro sounds a lot like breathe (dsotm)

Someone mentioned that the oh are to loud, i agree but the mix seems a bit hyped, so when you unhype it a bit the oh might be a bit les distracting

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. The song nods to the Floyd, but sonically falls short of those gorgeous, fat, analog tones. Drum solo is too long. lol

Way too much 5k-8k on these overheads. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. And they're way too loud.

After you bring them down, give them some low end so the toms don't sound like you're hitting them with a 1' toothpick.

Some good stuff there...Vocals for instance. Good job on that.

I also liked the guitar sound. What was the chorus on that?
If I had to guess I would say, Strat, Marshall and ?

I felt that the drummer did too many fills and he has one particular fill that ends with a 1/4 note triplit kinda thing that he does too often.

I agree with the others who said it was reminding them of Floyd, but that is not a bad thing.

What is your vocal chain?

Overall, good job, you know it is easy to pick anything apart, but that don't always mean it's crap.
