Hey Kenny, some time ago there was a thread about your use of Quick keys, and a specific data entry device. I've searched the DUC and not found it.. .are you still using quick keys, and if so, would you know where to find that thread? If perhaps your workflow has changed with Quick keys, could you outline that here?
also, whatcha using these days.. mouse or trackball?
love the groovebox vids btw. they've been indespensible to me with my upgrade to 7.4.

Thanks.
Rather than search the DUC, I'll list the device which doesn't work for me anymore. I can still use it. But I can't program it without hooking it up to a PC.
They make a newer unit now. I think.

They have other cool stuff too.
I use this now.

It's great for scrolling and you can program all those buttons.
Most of my QuicKeys are all used by Control-clicking the regular keyboard. For ex. Control-Z is "new mono audio track".
And theres a bunch of keys that pro tools never uses. Like:
[ ] ; ' \ help home end pageup pagedown
So I use them a lot too. Page up and down make the track height larger and smaller. [ + ] scroll thru each tracks parameters. Very useful.
I just made a chart of everything I could use and a chart of everything I could want.
Oh. I'm using a Pen and Tablet. 4X6 from Wacom. I changed the usable area to bottom left corner (using 25% of the area) so that my hand stays put. I just use my wrist.
It has two buttons on it. Not counting erase, which is pretty useless. First one is set for F5 which is for zooming. I set it to one time zooming so when I let go, I'm back to the previous tool.
The other one I change depending on what I'm doing. If I'm de-essing than the button pastes to selection.
Good Luck.

Wow. a pen and tablet-- i tried it years ago but didn't have a lot of luck.
I think I'll give Quick Keys or Ikeys a go.
I think it would be a cool tutorial in that series if you did something that focused on your use of Quickkeys/ shortcuts that enhance your work flow. At least, I'd pay to watch it.
thanks
