Yes, though all my hardware is not getting purchased for another month or so. I figure I'll mess around and get familiar with everything.

If you have Spotlight disabled, as is(was?) suggested by Digi for some machines, you should re-enable it and let a new index be built. Unlike Logic 7.x, Logic 8 relies on Spotlight for some things.
