Hello,
Had a great 3 days recording drums.
Gotta do a little editing on a few tracks.
Not much :) BUT.
Normally I copy each track hh, kick, snare etc in the arrange page so that I have a set of 10 (ten mics) above another take. All of them routed through the same channels so they all sound the same.
Is there a way of copying the group of channels rather than each one individually?
Thanks v much

Not sure if that's what you mean, but you can create a drum group in the mixer window. Make sure you have the "region/selection edit" box checked, that way every edit is affecting all the tracks in the group.

Not what I meant but v useful tip. Save me highlighting all the time. Worked out the original query.
Thanks v much!

Highlight the tracks you just recorded and hit command+F (may be another key command in Logic 8, what you want is the command for "Pack Folder"). This packs all highlighted regions into a folder and places it on a folder track.

Each track in the folder will play back from its original position, and you can easily A/B takes, mute, solo, cut, paste and move stuff around. No need to create new tracks in the arrangement.

Once you're happy with your rough edits, you can "Unpack Folder using Existing Tracks". If it asks if you want to create new tracks for overlapping regions, select "no/use existing tracks" (I forget the exact message), and do a "remove overlaps" if needed.

Next, you can fine tune your edits the regular way (with drums grouped as was explained in a previous post).

Note that folders are not practical for very small/precise edits.
