Hey all,
here we go again... :)

Carlo has managed to rescue the song for me (the links are still alive in the other thread if you're game, I'm not!) and in the process put up with me ordering him around. LOL

I did an Aardvark, erased and redid a few things, including the guitars with more feeling (but lots of clams) this time, still have to re-track the acoustic when the boss goes back to work next week.

All we need now is some drums and a proper horn section rather than my ordinary programming effort.
I'm hearing a Jeff P kinda feel to the drums.
As for the horns, the lines are a starting to get where I want them but I'm sure they can be improved.

Feel free to add or suggest anything else we/I could/should do to the track. :)

A selection of tracks are here:

Promises Full (http://www.msc.id.au/tmp/Promises-full-85bpm.mp3.zip)

Promises - No Drums (http://www.msc.id.au/tmp/Promises-cutdrms-85bpm.mp3.zip)

Promises - No Drums No Brass (http://www.msc.id.au/tmp/Promises-cutdrms-brs-85bpm.mp3.zip)

Looking forward to what you Wombers come up with...

PS: It's not mixed yet...
PS for MM: Yes I'm happy with the track so far!

Ok, Sea....

here's what i got after a couple 4 takes. it's not Steve Gadd, but i at least i did manage to find the '1' every now and then....

if it's got potential, i can redo it without the mistakes (maybe) or at least try and comp something worth a shit.

enjoy....

I've got your other tune loaded up but ran out of time. maybe in the next couple days...

or you can prohibit me from ever coming within 60 feet of one of your tunes.....

either way it was fun....

Andy

The drums for this track are now done.

Andy's take on these was spot on and exactly what I had in my head.

Promises Full Track (http://homepage.mac.com/mscheurer/.Music/Promises_8-1-07_aframe.mp3)

Promises No brass (http://homepage.mac.com/mscheurer/.Music/Promises_8-1-07_aframe_nobrass.mp3)

The links in the original post are now dead (can't edit the post for some reason)

Still need a new brass section for the track.

Feel free to add anything to the track, I'm open to ideas.

Carlo suggested some tamborine for the second verse, but what would he know, he's just a singer.

I too think Andys track has a great feel.

Yeah - good job AF. I kept playing WAY the hell out in front of it when I tried to get a track. I used to be able to lay back like that. Where'd my mojo go?
