Me again...

Whilst working on the Promises track I emailed Carlo some ideas to test the water. Turns out we work well together (or he is used to working with retards). Carlo wrote the lyrics and laid down some tracks for it. He also did the bass.

All we need now are some nice drums to go with it. Any of you got a spare couple of minutes?

Everything is still pretty much at the scratch stage...

NeverImagined Full track (http://www.msc.id.au/tmp/NeverImagined-full-120bpm.mp3.zip)

NeverImagined No Drums (http://www.msc.id.au/tmp/NeverImagined-nodrms-120bpm.mp3.zip)

Feel free to add anything else, just don't step on my Self Absorbed Guitar Player Ego.

Well, i did - literally. Only had time to do one take...

...which naturally caused me to spend quite a bit more time later at home, stiching together something semi-reasonable.

The good thing is, i guess i know now what i SHOULD have played ;-)

OOH! Me too!!

Link to Dik's attempt at the drum track (http://dikledoux.com/mp3_files/NeverImaginedDrumTakeDik.mp3)

I refuse to divulge how many takes it took ME to get to this point. Let's just say I want to thank Seagate and Carlo for the opportunity to dust off the drums after a hiatus and re-aquaint myself with how humiliating a click track can be. :Roll eyes:

Didn't do any work on drum mix - just raw/dry tracks. there's a weird skip in the MP3 at about 1:44, but that's in the MP3 conversion.

Hope it's not to sucky.

Not at all - cool to hear how the whole song's mood changes just by making a different version of one instrument...

Ditto!

I like the contrast of the verse and chorus, gives it a bit of lift for the chorus which is needed. The instrumental parts and the ending are perfect...

Thanks, I'll be in touch via pm.

Soooo, with the drums well and truly covered with Andy's take to come, has anyone got any other ideasof what could be either added or changed on this track to make it more palatable?

Some clever synth lines, some fem vox to stir up Carlo, percussion perhaps, I'm open, let loose why don't ya...

Let's make this track as good s it can be before it hits "Critique du soleil"

Disclaimer: None of my tracks are for profit, it's a hobby and will remain so until I get signed by someone with a billion dollar contract!

Fire away...

This track is now closed for drums...

I had for 4 submissions (2 via pm).

i'd like to thanks all those who took a shot, Haslu, dikledoux, drummertom & aframe9999.

I owe you all a dinner if you ever get down this way! :)

I amazed though, 4 drum takes and not a cowbell in sight...

I'm still open for any input on this track as I still have to re-track the guitars before I can mix it.

So come on fellow Wombers, this track can't be that bad for no-one to have any ideas!

I suppose I better get ready for a roasting later on.
