Audio Analyzer

I have found that the room that people mix in needs to be analyzed. And I'm wondering what would be an affordable tool to do it? I realize the new plug by IK Multimedia - ARC. But there has to be a cheaper way. I've seen a few audio analyzers, but I'm not sure what would be a good recommend.
I guess I'm looking at taking the room out of the mix.

Depends on your platform. and on the money you have laying about...

If you want real affordable, but still professional quality, there is a Libre software called Aliki for linux systems. I use it with very good results.

It's good and free.

And for measurements, the Behringer ECM8000 (http://www.behringer.com/ECM8000/index.cfm?lang=ENG) is one of the inexpensive (about 80 bucks or so) Behringer thingies which passes audio AND is good (with Behringer gear, it normaly is "...or is good").

Now after recording the imprint of the room, how do I compensate in protools? Would I run the differences on my master fader with say eq etc. And would I take these differences off before mixdown or not?

You don't.

You either treat the room or mix with an eye (ear) to those problems.

Putting EQ on the master bus to compensate for YOUR room is pretty silly when no one but yourself (and maybe the band) will hear the track there.
