Is there a way to do this? I've searched the forum and user manual and very well may be stuck on stupid but I can't find any info. I have a 200 track session coming up for a mix and would like to split the files across multiple drives but I'm not sure how to approach this in Logic.
Sorry if it's a simple question!

200 track session??!?!?!?
Is this just a straight studio recording? Not a film score? Not a live gig?
Hell..I don't know your situation, but I'm sorry...it sounds to me that SOMEONE needs to make some decisions on weeding out what should get to you at mix time.
As good as technology is, it has made a new generation of music techs (note I didn't say engineers) who can't make a decision.
Forgive me if I read the situation wrong.
And no...I didn't answer the question...I don't know of a way to do what you're asking.

Hey Ryan... Nice banner you've got there. :)
You can do it manually at first - spreading the assets across different drives and then when you create/save your file, just make sure you don't have the "Copy external audio files to project folder" under the Settings/Assets window.
That'll leave the files where they are.

I see you have equally good taste in banners!
Awesome, I was hoping something like that would work.
Yeah it's a song, metal band with lots of strings and keys. A lot of the tracks will be narrowed down but I doubt I can get it below 140 or so.
Such is life ;)
Now to see if my system survives....

Awesome banners, dudes (although Ryan's doesn't quite match)!
I think we will have to split the banners across drives before they overload the system. Did you notice that they are all in sync? There is good multitracking for you!
For a minute I though Ryan was asking about the tracks for our awesome Cape 7 submission. Didn't we have 200 tracks?
