Default CAPE 10 reveal - Team Megaphone

    Congratulations TEAM MEGAPHONE !

Find a link here or listen to the song on the CAPE RADIO

Cape supports the International Committee of the Red Cross

    final line-up:

    redbone: producer
    440: mixer
    Bud Jones: bass
    garanimals: guitars
    malice: drum loops
    Goes211: songwriter, vocals, keys.

I'd like to grab the mic to tell team Megaphone that it was a total blast to work with such a group of pro-minded folks.
Everyone went beyond their assigned duty to give more.
We had a drums hiccup when the tracks submitted by seaneldon didn't fit and he wasn't prepared to give us more. I want to thank the Mighty Malice Mouse for giving us some great tracks to work with.
I'd also like to give a special hats off to 440 (who worked until the last minute), and to redbone who stuck to his plan, coached everyone and delivered the goods. Both of them put in a lot more time than the team could have expected.
This team clicked, and that's one of the lucky instances of Cape.
I know, this is "protest Cape".
But me, I got no complaints. Whatsoever.

I listened to this quite a few times it was so catchy and groovay :-)

Love the lyrics especially; if I understood the meaning it's a protest against being called to protest!

    Damn! This is killer guys!

Loved that stutter on the guitar into the second verse.

    So smooth and groovy.

This is simply great. I really enjoyed it although it's not a genre I listen to often. Had be bobbing my head and tapping my feet along with it.

Goes, have I mentioned lately that I never get tired of your vocal work? Even when it's bluegrass.

Excellent work, everyone.. stands up to repeated listening. (I liked that stutter too.)

Just finished listening to all of them and this is the first one I went back to (I did listen to the solo of team Uprising a couple of times). What a catchy song!

I always love real drums but it's hard to complain (heh) about that when you guys got such a great groove going. Excellent job guys!

    Groo-vay...

Well, this is a case where real drums wouldn't have added much, so I'm glad you guys worked it to your advantage in the mix, adds a club-like feel that goes well with the song.

And fuck, great vocals again Goes...

Smooooooth.... love this. Great great vocals!

Especially love the chunky guitar tucked there in the chorus.

I could easily listen to an album of this kicking back with a drink

Totally agree! I LOVE this song ...especially the bass / guitar line that rides up toward the end.

If you guys did an album... I really WOULD buy it! (please?)

Great job! You should be proud!

Thanks for all of the kind words guys!

We definitely lucked out in that 80% of our team gave it 100%.

There actually are real drums in there mixed in with the drums from Paul's demo.

    Wait, these drums weren't real?!

I gotta ask Malice some questions..

It was amazing how after a quick "what are we up to" Goes was so quick in putting up a great demo. And we owe one to seaneldon, too: He proposed the "protest against being forced to write a protestsong"-idea. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Protesting is quite a task. I really liked how the team got the ball rolling in the beginning.

Great bunch of people, especially for a first CAPEr.
....we're so happy, it's unbelievable. The drums rock, the guitars are freaking amazing and once we touch up the vocals this is money. It sounds better unmixed than our last records masters!!!

We're going to have to get an OMF file so our drummer can mix this like our last record.

    Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

What a funky bunch of motherfuckers. Got a full-on body bop happenin', and I'm not even loaded yet!

Goes, if this is by any chance a "throwaway" you donated to the CAPE cause... I can only imagine what your "best" stuff is like!

CAPE rules. Let's start a record label!!! (OK maybe I'm slightly loaded..)

    Fucking great job.

That thought crossed my mind quite a few time yesterday as I listened to CAPE in my car ... And for legal purposes I have to state that I was most definately NOT loaded when I thought that

    innit though?

Haven't bopped my head like this since when I first heard

    "Flashlight"

Goes, for real this is bad ass. Sounds like a cross between Go West ( although you are an even better singer ) and Parliament.

Yeah I LOVE this tune. And it couldn't have happened if Everyone didn't full on kick ass. The bgvs are so on it too!
